Now first of all, ALL rats can learn tricks even if they are happy or lazy. :) It depends on what you mean by tricks I'm going to talk about tricks like spin and stuff, not litter training etc (that will be in a separate post).
Now, all rats like treats, with some you may be able to give them praise, but you're probably giving your rats bags of praise already. So we will lean toward the amazing treat. I have a blog post for good treats, in the post I believe I said something about a homemade treat, my next post is going to be the recipe. I usually use oats though because they are smaller and can be given more so more time for tricks :D Here's an example of what I do...
"Ginger spin! (me holding the piece of oat over her head in circling motions.) Wobble. spin. Ginger spinning. Yay! Click! (sound of clicker) and gives treat immediately after that. Nibble nibble"
They can catch on quite fast and within a few sessions its likely they would have the trick mastered it for sure depends on the rat. don't push them. Start out with just 15 minutes or less however hyper the rat is (females tend to be hyper and males lazy" so like I said it depends on the rat. Start out with a lil time and add until there patience is kinda done. Once you have done that subtract a few minutes and that will be the time span of your training session. Their patience should grow a bit but for now keep it sweet and short.
Coming up next: Some tricks to learn
P.S I LOVE COMMENTS!!! Write anything you would like to know about rats, Its likely that I would just answer back in a post to give you the jig. I'm not busy so questions bring it on.

Why fruits and veggies are so important
You probably already know this, but rats are scavengers. In the wild they would eat roots, berries, and anything else they could find, (that was edible of course. :)) Alot people think that rats only need the rat block, because lots of brands say like complete on the front and such. BUT THIS IS FALSE!!! Fruits and veggies are very important for extra vitamins, and minerals. If you feed your rats some blueberries every few days, it gives them a lower chance of getting cancer, bananas boost your rats immune health, and carrots are famous for their vitamin A which helps your ratties eyes! Also kale is very high in vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin K, and calcium!
Anyways, a balanced diet of rat blocks and fruit and veg will be an ideal diet for your rat!
P.S I LOVE COMMENTS!!! Please right anything you would like to know about rats in the comments, and I will get back to you. :) I'm not popular or anything so I can guarantee that I will have time to answer your question. :)

Rat cage tour!
Thank you Anastasia Clark for suggesting this article! Sorry I didn't make it right away, I have been very busy. :(
So lets get started!
This is their litter box.
This is their little house they like to sleep in
sometimes, they also have a little water bottle
that goes in the little house.
Here is the overview of the bottom, there is more
room on the right side of the cage, but its
just fleece. comment down below if u want me to
the other part of the cage.
This a ledge they like to hang out on. Also there is 2
ramps.
Up up up!
This is where I keep all of there food. Rat kibble,
Homemade mix, fruit, and veg.
This is their hammock, and ledge. The ledge I got
off of the doctor foster and smith website. I have
their link in another post. My rats like chill'in and
sleep'in on both of these items the hammock came
with the cage.
Here are some chew blocks, I have a chicken
flavored rawhide but I got the rawhide after I took
the pictures. The rawhide is already half gone!:)
This is a towel that they like snuggling in when its
a cold and or rainy day.
Here is a ramp and ledge.
Here is there little water bowl.
Here is there large 16oz water bottle.
P.S I LOVE COMMENTS!!! Please write anything you would like to know about rats. And I will answer your question. :) Also, I am getting some new things for my rat cage, so there will be a cage update coming soon!

How much it costs ( me ) to have a rats
First of all, thank you Anastasia Clark for suggesting this article!!!
I don't actually buy bedding. Instead, I use fleece rather than shavings for bedding. You only need to buy fleece once a year, at $5 a yard (I have 2 yards). Then you just wash it every week. I have 2 pieces, so one is in the wash while the other one is in the cage.
Food: I buy in bulk for about 36.99 for 20 pounds of food. This should last me a year for my two female rats. I use oxbow regal rat, (which in my opinion is the best food you can buy) If you buy it in bulk its actually cheaper than all of the other premade food. I also make homemade food. For homemade, I buy generic rice crispies cereal and rice chex's which cost about $2.50 a box. To the dry cereal, I add dehydrated apples and bananas (that I make myself)
The website where I buy the food is this one right here...
www.drfostersmith.com
Water: I use purified water because the water that comes from the sink has flouride which is also in rat poisoning. I buy purified water for around 80 cents a gallon (you might also be able to find this cheaper).
My rats have lots of toys (and many of them are bird toys). When one breaks, replace it.
Some rats are big chewers, mine aren't though. But if the ones you are getting ( or already have ) are big chewers you are going to have 3+ chew toys when you get them but once a month you probably want to get a new chew toy like a wood chew. You can get them shapes as vegatables, fruits, cheeses, or just a wood block. Or you can just get a small 3 inch rawhide for around 2 dollars, Just make sure the rawhide you buy is made in U.S.A or whatever country you live in, because if they are made in china there might be chemicals on the rawhide which might be harmful to your rats!!! :(
I LOVE COMMENTS!!! Please right a comments below about anything you would like to know about rats and I will get back to you, If its article worthy like Anastasia Clarks question right here, I will make an article about it!

Money saving tips!
One of rats necessity's are toys, I know you think I'm crazy but its true for rats to have proper enrichment and obstacles like they would have in the wild. You can make fun toys but you will probably buy some kind of toy at one point. One website I would recommend is
www.drfostersmith.com
This a great website for toys, food dishes, water bottles, bedding. etc.
I have a prevue hendryx cage, if you have looked at my earlier articles, I have a rat cage calculator in one of the articles. the cage I have currently can hold up to 5 rats (But its good to have more than enough space for your rats.)
However for cage buying, I would recommend Amazon.com, the cage I have right now only cost me 134 ( one hundred and thirty four) dollars. I would recommend this cage to anyone.
Anyways, Back to the website I linked to it, also has extra wood platforms to put on specifically for the cage I have BUT cage I have has wire flooring so in order for your rats to not get bumble foot I put on cardboard and fleece.
P.S I LOVE COMMENTS!!! Please comment below about anything you would like to know about rats and I will answer back!
P.P.S The best toy you can buy for your rat is another rat, It doesn't matter how many toys you buy.
